New Complex, Same Goals: Tweaking My Daily Routine

Moving always comes with a mix of excitement, stress, and a whole lot of adjusting—and this move has been no different. As we settle into our new apartment complex, I’ve been taking time to notice all the little (and big) differences compared to where we were before.

One of the biggest questions I had going into this move was whether or not the new complex would have the amenities I’ve grown to rely on—especially a pool and fitness center. I’m happy to report that it does have both! That was a huge relief for me, especially since staying active is such an important part of my daily routine and my 75 Soft journey.

That said, there is a bit of a catch. Unlike our previous complex, where everything felt just a short and easy walk away, this one is much more spread out. The pool and fitness center are definitely accessible—but it’s quite a walk to get to them. Normally, I wouldn’t mind the extra steps, but being in a completely unfamiliar environment has made me a little more cautious.

Because of that, I’ve decided to adjust my routine slightly—just enough to make this transition feel a bit more comfortable while I get used to my surroundings. Instead of waking up at 6:00 AM, I’ll now be starting my day at 7:00 AM. It’s a small shift, but it gives me a little more ease in the morning as I navigate this new space.

I’ll also be heading to the gym at 9:00 AM instead of 7:00 AM. This change helps me avoid the early morning uncertainty of walking to a place I’m still getting familiar with, and it allows me to move through my routine with more confidence. Once I’ve gotten my workout in, I’ll continue with the rest of my schedule just like before—keeping that consistency that’s been so important to me.

Even though this place is different, I’m choosing to see it as a fresh start rather than a disruption. Every new environment comes with its own rhythm, and I’m learning to adapt while still staying committed to my goals.

Here’s to new beginnings, new routines, and finding comfort in unfamiliar places—one step at a time.
