Day 36 felt like one of those small but meaningful turning points—the kind where you notice something subtle, but it actually says a lot about your progress.
Today, I realized that my walking pace outdoors is noticeably faster than it is on the treadmill. That caught me a little off guard at first. I always assumed the treadmill would keep me more consistent, maybe even push me a bit more. But being outside naturally has me moving quicker without even thinking about it.
I think part of it is the environment. When I’m outside, I’m more engaged. I have a destination, fresh air, things to look at, and a sense of moving forward. On the treadmill, it’s a bit more repetitive, and I think I’ve been settling into a comfortable pace instead of a challenging one.
That realization told me something important: it’s time to make some adjustments.
If I want my treadmill workouts to match the effort I’m putting in outside, I need to be more intentional. That probably means increasing my speed a bit, maybe even playing around with incline again, and pushing myself out of that “easy zone” I’ve gotten used to.
It’s actually kind of motivating to see this difference. It means I’m capable of more than I’ve been doing indoors—I just need to bring that same energy into the gym.
This journey continues to teach me that progress isn’t always about big milestones. Sometimes it’s about awareness. Paying attention to how my body moves, how I feel, and where I can improve.
Day 36 is a reminder that growth comes from those little observations—and what you choose to do with them.
Tomorrow, I’ll be stepping on that treadmill with a new mindset: match my outdoor pace, and don’t hold back.
